The Beach

Next week we will be vacationing so this week we have been getting ready. Since we have already traveled with Asher once before I am aware of all of the things he will need. I am trying very carefully to bring everything he will need without overpacking. I understand he doesn't need every toy he owns so choosing the right ones is a task. My mom bought him a suitcase which is currently packed with bathing suits and other clothes.

My goal was to pack EVERYTHING he would need (clothes, diapers, bottles, food, etc.) into that one suitcase. Sadly this will not happen. Change of plans...as long as I can keep all the like items together I will be happy. I just hate when you get somewhere and you can't find something and you have to basically unpack all of you bags to find what you are looking for...so frustrating!!

So I am looking forward to getting to the beach and relaxing. Hope you have a great week!!

Motherhood

Today I came across this article on the 9Marks website that was very encouraging and wanted to share it with you. Hope it encourages you as a wife and mother.

1st Trip to ER

On July 4, 2010 Asher made his first appearance in the Emergency Room...what happened you ask?

Sunday morning in his red, white and blue.

Our sunday started out just as any Sunday...feeding, getting ready for church, eating lunch and so on. We were having a small fellowship at our home that evening so that evening I was playing with Asher while our guests were talking amongst themselves and I accidentally popped his radial head out of his elbow!! He screamed and there was no calming him down...I felt awful. So after a lot of tears were shed and a lot of phone calls were made to the pediatrician, hospital and my mom, we decided to take Asher to the ER. We went early enough that the waiting room was empty...no firework related injuries just yet. We were brought to a room and a nurse came in to check on Asher and brought him an ice pack and decided he needed an X-ray.

After awhile, the tech came to get us and moved Ashers arm so he screamed in pain. Then the doctor came in and messed with Ashers arm and he was fixed!! Actually, the doctor didn't fix him, the x-ray tech did when moving his arm around to get pictures.

I am ready to go home!!

We left the hospital at 11pm and Asher slept all night and is back to normal.
